How to Set Up Kasa Device (Power and Light Automation)

To set up a kasa device, provide USchedule with the username and the password for your kasa account. That information is needed to apply the integration between the softwares.

0nce USchedule has that set up, go to your resources page and edit your simulators.

On the units tab you will find your simulators.

Each one of these has an edit button.

Start with sim 1.

Edit the kasa device configuration page.

First, make an assignment. Once we have integration with your kasa account, we can see what your kasa devices are labeled as.

Set up sim 1 with the bay 01 lights and the bay 01 projector. Click both of those options as a multi selection.

When you have your choices made here, click the assign button.

Here you can see the current settings. These are default settings.

You have bay 01 lights and projector set with the default 5 minutes lead in and lead out time and zero look ahead.

The look ahead setting allows your software to control your projector or your lights in the bay with consideration to any upcoming appointments.

When you consider the time value to add here, you need to consider what the start time value is on your sim rental service.

If it is set at the quarter you can change the look ahead to 15 minutes.

And if you want to keep your lead in and lead out time values the same, enter those and click the save button.

Choose one or both of these assigned devices.

When you click the save button, those settings will be updated.

Now the lights and the projector have the same 5 minute lead in, lead out and now have a 15 minute look ahead setting.

When you're finished adjusting your settings, close the page.

Repeat that process for each of your other simulators.
