How to Set Up Loyalty Points

From the Navigation menu, go to Settings, then click on Services and click the edit button. On the edit page, scroll down to the very bottom of the page to find the Loyalty Points Earned, Loyalty Point Cost options. See screenshot below.

Best practices for setting up loyalty points:

  • Loyalty point cost - consider one point per dollar value. For example, the sim rental service shown in the screenshot below has a $40 hourly rate. For that service, there is a loyalty point cost set at 1 point per dollar, which is 40 points.

  • Loyalty points earned - a common way to calculate points earned would be to apply a percentage based on the loyalty point cost. For example, 4 points earned is ten percent of the loyalty point cost.

In this example, a customer would earn 4 points per hour and after having booked 10 hours, they would have enough points to spend on one hour.

Please note: Points are earned when payment is made. Payment for the item purchased must be made in advance for loyalty points to be earned.

Things to consider when calculating your loyalty point values:

  • The points earned calculation should be consistent with all of your products. In the example above, points earned were ten percent of the loyalty point cost. In the screenshot below, you will see that the price of a soda is $4.25.

Considering the 1 point per dollar value, we would need a Loyalty Point Cost of 4.25 points. Since loyalty point values must be whole numbers, we need to round 4.25 to a whole number. In the example in the screenshot below, we have rounded up to 5. To calculate Loyalty Points earned, we need to calculate ten percent of the 5 point cost. Ten percent of 5 is 0.5. We need to round 0.5 to the nearest whole number, which is 1 point for the Loyalty Points Earned.

Best practices include consistency with regard to points earned and points redeemed for all products that qualify for loyalty point usage. However, your numbers are not required to be consistent as in the examples provided. You can calculate points earned and points to redeem at your discretion.
