How to Purchase a Membership Using a Gift Card
If a customer purchases a membership and would like to make the first payment using a gift card, navigate into your buy products page and go to the membership that the customer would like to purchase.
Click on the membership, and then search for the customer's name in the database.
Click that name to make the choice.
Click the buy now button.
For an account that has running tabs, it will open up a tab for this customer and it will put that membership on the tab.
If you do not have running tabs, you would be on a basic purchase page.
For the tabs functionality, click the checkout option.
The customer must have a credit card on file to use a gift certificate to purchase a membership.
Click the gift card payment option and search for the customer's gift certificate.
You will see the gift certificate balance. Make sure the balance remaining on the certificate will cover the first month's fee for the membership.
Click the select button that chooses the gift certificate. Accept payment.
That will finish the process and show that the gift certificate payment is logged.
The membership is added to the customer's profile and recurring billing is set up on that saved credit card, so the next payment will come from the credit card.
