Adding a Closure

What is a Closure?

A Closure is a tool that allows you to put a block on all employee and resource calendars. A Closure can be created with various durations of time, ranging from a single hour to multiple days. Closures are often created for holidays, maintenance, construction, and cleaning.

How do I create a Closure?

Because setting up a Closure will vary depending on whether the duration of the Closure is a few hours, a single day, or multiple days, this article is divided into sections that will address each scenario separately.

How do I create a Closure that lasts less than a full business day?

Start by going to the Closures tab of your account settings. Then you will select Add New.

Give a Description of your Closure. Select the Location where your Closure will take place.

NOTE: If your account has one location, that location will be set by default.

Make sure the check box for All Day Closure is unchecked. This will reveal the Start Time and End Time fields.

Your Start Date and End Date will be the same date.

Set your Start Time and End Time. This will establish the hours when the Closure will take place.

Click the Save button and your Closure will go onto your scheduler

The example below would create a Closure on 2/4/2023 from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Noon)

How do I create a Closure for a single full day of business?

Follow the steps outlined above until you get to the All Day Closure check box; you will need to check this box.

Checking the All Day Closure check box will hide the fields Start Time and End Time.

NOTE: The All Day Closure check box will be checked by default.

The Start Date will be the day that your Closure takes place.

Click the Save button and your Closure will go onto your scheduler

The example below would create an all-day Closure on 11/23/2023 (Thanksgiving).

How do I create a Closure for longer than a full day of business?

Follow the steps outlined above until you get to the All Day Closure check box; you will need to un-check this box.

The Start Date will be the first day of your Closure, beginning at your chosen Start Time

The End Date will be the last day of your Closure, ending at your chosen End Time.

Click the Save button and your Closure will go onto your scheduler.

The example below would create a multi-day Closure starting on 12/24/2023 at 12:00 AM (Midnight) and ending on 12/25/2023 at 11:59 PM (Christmas Eve and Christmas Day).
